Description

Find out how to make your food label compliant for sale in Australia and NZ covering country of origin, ingredients, claims, PEAL, Weights & Measures, and more....

On 25 February 2021 the Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code was amended with new requirements for the labelling of allergens in food.

The changes are designed to help consumers find allergen information on food labels quickly and easily, so they can make informed and safe food choices.

To remain compliant and certified you must ensure your business conforms to the new requirements.

These requirements include that allergen information is to be declared:

  • in a specific format and location on food labels
  • using simple, plain English terms in bold font (Plain English Allergen Labelling)

Contents

On successful completion of this course, participants will obtain the knowledge to effectively understand the legislative requirements for the labelling of packaged and unpackaged food products and how to meet these regulations.

This labelling training is a one day practical hands-on workshop without any exams or assignments.

Benefits

Not all industries are subject to such heavy regulation as the food industry is, and with good reason.  The consequences for consumers (and in turn business) for a disregard of the labelling regulations is significant.

For consumers, the consequences can be deadly.

For businesses, the resultant penalties imposed for a breach of the regulations, and the damage to the brand can be almost as disastrous.
